Africa Health ExCon 2026: Insights into the Trends Shaping Healthcare Projects Across Africa

INTEGROMED Team at Africa Health Booth 2026

Africa Health ExCon | 15 – 18 June 2026 | Egypt International Exhibition Center (EIEC)

Healthcare systems across Africa continue to invest in new hospitals, modernization projects, and digital healthcare infrastructure. Alongside these developments, project requirements are evolving. Efficient implementation, modular construction, and integrated healthcare concepts are becoming increasingly important when planning modern healthcare facilities.

These priorities were clearly reflected at Africa Health ExCon 2026, one of Africa’s leading healthcare exhibitions. Bringing together healthcare ministries, hospital operators, procurement organizations, investors, manufacturers, and industry professionals from across the continent, the event provided a valuable platform to discuss current healthcare developments, future projects, and emerging technologies.

For INTEGROMED, the exhibition offered the opportunity to reconnect with existing partners, strengthen relationships, establish new contacts, and gain first-hand insights into the priorities currently shaping healthcare projects across Africa.

Current healthcare project priorities

The exhibition highlighted the wide range of healthcare projects currently taking place across Africa. Discussions focused particularly on hospital development, renovation, and modernization projects, reflecting continued investment in healthcare infrastructure throughout the region.

Current demand includes both medium-sized and large-scale healthcare projects. Among the project types discussed most frequently were hospital expansions, new hospital developments, Operating Room (OR) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) upgrades, turnkey healthcare projects, medical equipment tenders, and Smart Hospital solutions.

Efficient project delivery remains a key consideration

While the scope of healthcare projects continues to expand, many discussions focused on the practical aspects of implementation.

Many conversations focused on project timelines and delivery schedules, reflecting the need for solutions that help reduce implementation time. Visitors were equally interested in installation procedures, customization options, durability, maintenance, and the integration of different systems within Operating Rooms and Intensive Care Units.

These exchanges demonstrated that successful healthcare projects are increasingly evaluated not only by the technologies they include, but also by how efficiently those technologies can be implemented and integrated.

Modular construction continues to grow

One of the key trends observed throughout the exhibition was the growing interest in modular construction for healthcare facilities. Visitors consistently highlighted hygiene, flexibility, sustainability, design, and expandability as important considerations when planning modern healthcare environments.

This was also reflected in the conversations and visitor interest at the INTEGROMED booth. The IntSy Modular Room System received very positive feedback and was one of the main points of interest throughout the exhibition. In particular, the printed wall element attracted considerable attention by demonstrating how functionality can be combined with a modern interior appearance.

Alongside the modular room concept, visitors explored additional solutions for Operating Rooms and healthcare facilities, including the Intuitive Console, Supply Pendo, Surgical Lights, OR Integration Systems, Smart Hospital Maintenance (SHM), and the INTEGROMED Academy.

Digitalization continues to shape healthcare projects

Another clear development observed at Africa Health ExCon 2026 was the growing importance of digitalization in hospital projects. Discussions focused on how connected systems can improve operational efficiency, support facility management, enhance patient care, and simplify hospital operations. Rather than considering individual technologies separately, many project stakeholders are looking at how different solutions can work together as part of an integrated healthcare concept.

This reflects a broader shift towards more connected healthcare environments that combine infrastructure, medical technology, and digital solutions within a single project.

Looking ahead

The exhibition reflected growing interest in advanced healthcare solutions, modular systems, digital technologies, and integrated hospital concepts. At the same time, there is increasing demand for partners who can support projects from planning and design through supply, installation, and after-sales support.

For INTEGROMED, Africa Health ExCon 2026 provided valuable opportunities to exchange ideas with healthcare professionals and project stakeholders from across the continent while gaining deeper insight into the priorities shaping the African healthcare market.

We would like to thank all visitors, partners, and industry professionals who visited our booth and shared their experiences and project perspectives. We look forward to continuing these conversations and supporting future healthcare projects across Africa.
